The Philippines, as an archipelago is rich in natural resources. Mountains for trekkers are abundant as well as the most scenic beaches. Heaven is not hard to imagine when you are around these breathtaking offers of nature.

Being in Manila does not give you an excuse not to visit these beaches. Even the city dwelling does not limit your access to the forces of nature as there are a lot of them scattered just outside the county’s capital. Escaping the busy urban lifestyle even with only the weekend off is always achievable. There are thousands of them and here are some of the most pristine beaches near the city:

1. Nagsasa Cove, Zambales
Nagsasa Cove in Zambales has been recently recognized as a tourist destination especially for those who are adventure enthusiasts. Nagsasa Cove is renowned for its sands enveloped in ashes, teeming Agoho Trees which look similar to pine trees and a laid-back cool setting which is believed to be a fusion of the Baguio and Boracay atmosphere and stunning beach. Nagsasa Cove, which is only three to four hours away from Manila via bus, is regarded as an ideal spot for those who are in for a revitalizing plunge. Those who have already experienced the cove could not find anything to complain about and it’s high time to check it out for yourselves.

2. Malabrigo, Lobo, Batangas
From the North, we now explore the southern part of Luzon. Malabrigo beach is only one of the many beaches found in Batangas. With miles of stretched shoreline, Malabrigo beach is perfect for a quiet getaway. There is no White sand Boracay feeling here but its beaches are strewn with small smooth pebbles. The most famous place to be in Malabrigo is the Submarine Garden, where the water is so clear, you can see live corals and other life forms even without goggles. Also, the Malabrigo Lighthouse can be easily accessed from Malabrigo.

3. Borawan Beach, Padre Burgos, Quezon Province
Also a pride of the South, Quezon province also boasts of its beach sanctuaries. This time, an island, Borawan is incontestably one of the top beaches to visit near Manila. Accessible by boat, the small island showcases an eye-catching vacation spot where you can really have a good time with your loved ones. Camping is also available for thrill seekers. Borawan provides complete facilities from fresh new huts to comfort rooms, kitchen, tents for rent and even a store where you can purchase food and your other personal necessities.
